Hamish Blair is Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, and currently holds the position of Head of People Experience at Motion Picture Solutions. His career path includes 9 years at Apple, founding a sustainability business and 3 years as Director of HR Business Partners at one of America’s largest non-profits – the ASPCA.
With a natural curiosity in what interests and motivates people, his path into HR now appears a foregone conclusion. However it took a chance encounter with a puppy fostering agency to provide his first step into an HR role and since then he has not looked back.
Early experience in sales and business technology consultancy provided Hamish with a wide-ranging understanding of industry verticals, company structures and the ability to strategically analyse requirements to achieve business objectives. He marries this with a firm belief in the importance of an active, inclusive and motivating company culture where people are inspired to be the best version of themselves. In his current role Hamish has revitalised the People function and company culture at Motion Picture Solutions, implementing a clear People Strategy with the goal of the company achieving Top 100 Workplaces in 2025.
Outside of work Hamish spends time with his wife and daughter, enjoys cooking and the outdoors, and occasionally plays the bagpipes.

I am a seasoned international employment lawyer.
I honed my skills and specialist knowledge at international leading law firms. In this time, I was recognised by international legal directories for my transactional employment law work in EMEA. I led teams, and engaged on topical aspects of employment law on television, radio and numerous written media forms.
After 14 years, I opted to cross over and take my experience in house. I then built and led the employment capabilities at an employer of record across the globe, leading a team of regional experts.
I am now responsible for employment law across Vista operations.
I am robust as I am dynamic and practical in my practice. I see a number of grey areas in the laws post the lockdown laws being lifted. An agile async workplace is at odds with laws coming to the fore. Employee benefits and retention schemes are struggling to root in relevance in this era too. Ultimately everything about how we work is fluid. And this we know is something the law is almost wholly unfamiliar with. So if you’re keen on collaborating, I’d love to hear from you!
